If you have your Sync Service installed on a computer that does not have ACT! also installed on it.
When ACT! is updated, the Dynamic Link Library (dll) files are updated. If you have your Sync Service installed on a computer that does not have ACT! installed, needed updated dll files are not installed. The Best Practice is to install ACT! on the computer where you have installed the Sync Services. Also ensure that all the same updates and Hotfixes are applied to all copies of ACT!.
Note: It is strongly recommended that you install the current version of ACT! and latest Hotfix. Note: The ACT! by Sage 2006 Hotfix four is inclusive of all prior Hotfixes for ACT! 2006. Your Installed Version of ACT!: How to determine the version of ACT! you have installed:
Click the Help menu, and then click About ACT!. The About ACT! dialog box appears. The version number is located near the top.
Note: Versions 8.0.2.81 and 8.0.2.82 with HotFix four applied are the same version. To be compatible for synchronization you must apply Hotfix four. Please refer to the following Knowledge Base Answer:
