Clickon “Tools” “Preferences” and open the e-mail setup on the “E-mail” tab. Thee-mail setup wizard will walk you through the process step by step. Contactyour Internet Service Provider for the incoming and outgoing mail serveraddresses. They typically start with pop.[my provider] for the incoming mailserver and with smtp.[my provider] for the outgoing mail server. For Cox in Arizona, for instance,these addresses would be pop.west.cox.net and smtp.west.cox.net. Youwill also need you e-mail user name and password. Select the check box “InternetMail” in the e-mail setup wizard. Make sure you select “Use the ACT! e-mailprogram” when you select the option for “When viewing, composing and sendinge-mails”. Add your account on the “Internet Mail Setting” page in the wizard.Add your user information in the “User Information” tab, your incoming andoutgoing server addresses in the next two tabs and use the “Advanced” tab totest your setting. ACT! will send a test message to your e-mail account andcheck for errors. |
